![]() We think it’s simply that Microsoft made the mistake of trying to reinvent the wheel. Microsoft has clearly made a concerted effort to appeal to desktop users, but the Start screen still continues to get no love. However, in the case of Start screen, we’re now already using Windows 8.1, update 1 (technically something of a service pack). So what’s the deal? We all know Vista was a disaster, but then the company released Windows 7, and everything seemed forgiven.
